Face Up Down is a drinking game in the Card Games category for 3-8 players that takes about 15-30 min with a easy difficulty level.
Mixed face up and down cards
Shuffle a standard deck of cards thoroughly. Divide the deck evenly among all players, keeping any leftover cards in a 'community pile' at the center. Each player places their stack face down in front of them, but every player flips the top card of their stack face up at the start of the game.
Keep an eye on the flipped-up cards in play, this game is all about fast recognition, so knowing what's face up helps you react quickly when penalties are assigned. Avoid flipping cards too aggressively, as knocking over the deck results in an automatic drink penalty. If you draw a card from your deck and it matches the value of another player's face-up card, call out 'Snap!' immediately to pass out drinks. Timing is everything here, hesitation can cost you, and miscalling forces you to drink.
Reverse Down-Up: Instead of starting with face-up cards, players start with their top card face down. Once everyone has a face-down card, players flip them simultaneously and react accordingly.. Penalty Round: For every penalty a player earns, they must also discard two cards from their stack into the community pile, which makes it harder for them to reach the end with cards left.. Double Trouble: Whenever two players tie on calling out 'Snap!' for a matching card, both must drink before assigning extra drinks to other players.
